Update October 2024:

We have run many beginner courses over recent years, and hope to again in the future. However, at present we are unfortunately unable to run any beginner courses. We will update this website if and when this changes.

The information below is for reference, but note we are currently unable run beginner courses.

Before joining an archery club for the first time, you need to complete a beginner's course. Here at Junction Archers we are delighted to offer these six session courses run by our own qualified coaches.

All of our coaches are qualified with Archery GB and have undertaken safeguarding training and DBS checks enabling us to cater for all ages from 8 upwards (children under the age of 16 will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times).

Once you are offered a place on a course you will have to pay the full non-refundable course fee and submit a completed enrolment form before starting the course.

During the six sessions we will provide the equipment you need so you can learn how to use a bow safely and start to develop archery skills in a friendly and welcoming setting.

For safety, we ask that you wear suitable clothing, appropriate for the weather, with no loose ties that can't be tucked in and fully enclosed shoes or boots (no sandals or crocs). Please always wear a top with sleeves, vest tops are not suitable to shoot in. If your hair is long enough to tie back, please do so.

If you wish, please bring a soft drink and a snack.

On the successful completion of the training course you will be able to apply to join our club and continue your shooting. Please click on the menu at the top of the screen for information on our membership services.
